Author Guidelines

JoGMM would like to thank you for choosing to submit the article to us.
The guidelines below ensure that JoGMM has the necessary elements for the author's article to be reviewed and published smoothly.
Please take the time to read and follow our instructions to ensure your rights.
The journal does not publish articles discussing Race, Gender, Sex, Sexuality, Terrorism, and/or Violence.

The authors will receive a copy of the journal and a stamped certificate of publication after publishing.

We accept the following types of papers:

  • 1. Research Articles: are expected to present a major advance. Research Articles include an abstract, an introduction, up to six figures or tables, sections with brief subheadings and a final reference list. Materials and Methods should usually be included in supplementary materials, which should also include information needed to support the paper's conclusions.

  • 2. Reports: present important new research results of broad significance. Reports should include an abstract, an introductory paragraph, up to four figures or tables, and about 30 references. Materials and Methods should usually be included in supplementary materials, which should also include information needed to support the paper's conclusions.

  • 3. Invited Reviews describe new developments of interdisciplinary significance and highlight future directions. They include an abstract, an introduction that outlines the main theme, brief subheadings, and an outline of important unresolved questions. A maximum of 40 references is suggested. Most Reviews are solicited by the editors, but unsolicited submissions may also be considered to describe new developments of interdisciplinary significance and highlight future directions.

  • 4. Editorial Commentary includes analysis by experts on issues of interest to readers. With the exception of Letters and Comments, most items in these sections are commissioned by the editors, but unsolicited contributions are welcome.

  • 5. Book Reviews in the area of the management sciences.

Editorial Procedure:

Double-blind peer review:
This journal follows a double-blind reviewing procedure. Authors are, therefore, requested to submit articles without any author names and affiliations in the main text.

A separate Title Page should include:

  • The name(s) of the author(s)
  • A concise and informative title
  • The affiliation(s) and address(es) of the author(s)
  • The e-mail address, telephone numbers of the corresponding author
  • Abstract Please provide an abstract of 100 to 250 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.
  • Please provide 4 to 6 keywords which can be used for indexing purposes.

The following brief checklist provides a quick reference for you to follow during your submission and article review process:

  • Articles must be prepared in strict accordance with JoGMM Style.
  • Articles should be typed and written in Times New Roman, font 12, Title shall be in a font size 14.
  • All section titles in the article shall be in font size 12, boldface capitals. Subtitles in each section shall be in font size 12, boldface lower case, followed by a colon.
  • Double spacing all portions of the article— including the title page, abstract, text, acknowledgments, references, individual tables, and legends—and margins 2.5 cm on each side.
  • Authors should number all of the pages of the article consecutively, beginning with the title page.
  • Authors, in their cover letter to the Editor, should clearly mention whether the article shall be considered as a Research Article, Reports, or Review Article.
  • Authors should confirm that the article has not been submitted to any other Journal for publication.
  • Self Citations should be avoided as much as possible and any potential data overlap with previous studies should be noted and described in the letter to the Editor.
  • Please acknowledge your peer reviewer(s) and include other author notes in the letter to the Editor.

Reference style:
An alphabetically ordered list of references, all of which must be cited in the text, should be included at the end of the article. References should begin on a separate page headed by REFERENCES.
Page numbers should be given consecutively.
Citations to references should be designated throughout the text by enclosing the authors’ names and the year of the reference in parentheses.

Example:

Several studies (Adams, 1974; Brown & Hales, 1975, 1980; Collins,1976a,b) support this conclusion.

Reference from a Book:

General Style:
Authors’ or Editors’ Last Names and initials. Year. Title of book. City Where Published, State or Country: Name of Publisher.

Examples:

Reference from a journal article:

General Style:
Authors’ Last Names, Initials. Year. Title of article or paper. Name of journal, volume number (issue number): page numbers.

Examples:

1. Fry, L. W., & Slocum, J. W., Jr. 1984. Technology, structure, and workgroup effectiveness: A test of a contingency model. Academy of Management Journal, 27: 221–246.

Reference from a journal article If a Journal article has no author:
The name of the periodical should be treated like a corporate author, both in the citation and in the references.

Reference in the Text:
There is fear that Social Security rates may rise (Wall Street Journal,1984).

In the list of references:
Wall Street Journal. 1984. The inflation rate may cause Social Security to increase. September 24: 14.

Chapters in books:

  • General Style:
  • Authors’ Last Names and initials. Year. Title of chapter (in lowercase letters except for the first word and first word after a colon). In Editors’ Initials and Last Names (Eds.), Title of book: page numbers. City Where Published, State or Country (only if necessary to identify the city): Name of Publisher.

Examples:

Reference of the Unpublished papers, dissertations, and presentedpapers  should be listed in the references using the following formats:
1. Duncan, R. G. 1971. Multiple decision-making structures in adapting to environmental uncertainty. Working paper No. 54-71, Northwestern University Graduate School of Management, Evanston, IL.
2. Smith, M. H. 1980. A multidimensional approach to individual differences in empathy. Unpublished doctoral dissertation, University of Texas, Austin.

Proceedings, published reports and works from a university, special editions, and monographs should be listed in the references in the following formats:
1. Deutsch, M. 1962. Cooperation and trust: Some theoretical notes. Nebraska Symposium on Motivation: 275–320. Lincoln: Nebraska University Press.

Materials accessed on the web should be listed in the references in the following formats, as appropriate:
1. Bernstam, M. S., & Rabushka, A. 2000. From predation to prosperity: Breaking up enterprise network socialism in Russia. http://www.russiaeconomy.org/predation.html.

Galley Proofs:
Electronic proofs will be sent (e-mail attachment) to the corresponding author as a PDF file.
Page proofs are considered to be the final version of the article. With the exception of typographical or minor clerical errors, no changes will be made in the article at the proof stage.
Authors will have free electronic access to the full text (in both HTML and PDF) of the article. Authors can freely download the PDF file from which they can print unlimited copies of their articles.
